Description
The CrystalCap SPINE HT is a magnetic sample mount (also known as a cap, pin or goniometer base) designed for cryocrystallography systems that accept SPINE style caps. The CrystalCap SPINE HT attaches to a magnetic CrystalCap SPINE Vial and magnetic goniometer base. The tip of the CrystalCap SPINE HT accepts a Mounted CryoLoop™ or MicroTube™ fitted with a CryoLoop™.The CrystalCap SPINE Vial is a 1.8 ml cryo vial featuring two small vents and is compatible with the CrystalCap SPINE HT. A ring magnet is molded into the open end of the vial so that when the cap is positioned in the vial, the ring magnet holds the cap on the vial during cryogenic storage. The CrystalCap SPINE Vial features chamfered edges for enhanced cap positioning as well as a magnetic alloy bottom for stability. The HR8-114 CrystalCap SPINE Vial does have a magnet on the bottom of the vial.The hollowed out design of the CrystalCap SPINE HT is compatible with SPINE style grippers, auto mounters and sample handlers.The CrystalCap SPINE HT features a two dimensional (2D) alphanumeric 16 x 16 data matrix code on the underside of the cap. Each cap is also color coded for CryoLoop size.CrystalCap SPINE without 2D code/printing (HR8-094) is the CrystalCap SPINE HT cap only, without 2D code, without color code, without white white background on bottom of cap and no alphanumeric side labeling; cap only, without Mounted CryoLoop.Note: Caps with Mounted CryoLoops are sold without vials. 描述

Description
The CrystalWand Magnetic is designed to be used exclusively with the CrystalCap Magnetic, CrystalCap Copper Magnetic, and CrystalCap HT systems during transfer of the caps from the vial to the goniometer head and from the goniometer to the vial. The 6 1/2” (165 mm) long chrome plated steel wand features a plastic housing enclosing a spring tensioned plunger that when depressed, moves a non-magnetic steel platform away from the magnet housed in the end of the wand. This causes the steel CrystalCap to detach from the wand and be placed readily into the vial. When the platform is retracted, the wand securely holds the steel CrystalCap Magnetic.

Description
A crystal! Is it protein or is it salt? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Sure you could mount the crystal in question and take a quick look at the diffraction pattern but perhaps you’re too lazy or you don’t have an x-ray facility. Well, there’s always the crush test. One simply takes a MicroTool™ or Crystal Probe™ and crushes the suspect crystal. A click or solid crunch is indicative of salt while a powder or silent destruction might indicate one just destroyed a perfectly good protein crystal. Izit is here to help. Simply place 1 µl of Izit in the sample drop and wait for an hour or so. Izit is a small molecule dye which will fill the solvent channels in protein crystals, coloring the crystals blue. With the appropriate dilution, Izit will in fact leave a clear drop with blue crystals, as illustrated in the picture above. Salt crystals do not possess these large solvent channels. Therefore, Izit cannot enter the crystal, leaving one with a clear crystal and a blue drop. Izit is especially nice for small microcrystals or questionable precipitate. The 0.5 ml vial of Izit is sufficient for more than thousands of crystallization drops.

Each Izit vial contains 0.5 ml of Izit dye. All solutions are formulated using ultra-pure water and are sterile filtered. Crystallization accessories are sold separately.

The Vial Clamp™ – Straight is a chrome plated, hemostat style tool. It has a tip shaped to hold the storage vial of all the CrystalCap Systems™ straight when the clamp is closed. The clamp can be locked using the hemostat style closure. This clamp makes it easy to dip the storage vial into liquid nitrogen for crystal storage. The complete length of the clamp is straight, with an overall length of 195 mm. When the vial is placed in the clamp, the length of it is positioned perpendicular, 90° to the length of the clamp.

DESCRIPTION

The Magnetic Base (9.3 mm diameter support) is a machined brass piece fitted with a magnet. The base fits into the goniometer head, providing a secure base for the CrystalCap System™ sample holders. Fits most goniometer heads. The Magnetic Base is available in two strengths: strong and medium. The stem of the magnet is 3 mm in diameter. The length of the stem is 5 mm. The thickness of the platform is 3.6 mm.

DESCRIPTION

Tungsten Carbide scribe and glass cutter with replaceable tungsten carbide tip. Tungsten Carbide Tip can be removed and inverted to protect tip and user. Knurled aluminum alloy body and pocket clip. Overall length 130 mm. Useful for cutting and removal of the upper coverglass that seals the HR3-151 LCP Sandwich Set.

Tungsten carbide scribe tips are not threaded and are held in place with a threaded tip chuck. To remove tip, turn the tip chuck counterclockwise one turn (without completely removing the chuck) while holding the aluminum handle stationary, and pull the tip from the chuck and handle. To install a new tip, slide the new tip into the chuck and handle and tighten the tip chuck clockwise to secure the new tip into the handle. Loosen tip chuck, remove tip, reserve and install with the tip inverted to protect user and the tip when not in use.

Tungsten Carbide Scribe is supplied with one tip installed. Replacement tips sold separately. Tungsten Carbide Scribe Tip is a set of 3 replacement tips designed for the Tungsten Carbide Scribe HR4-702. Tungsten carbide Tip in steel shank to strengthen and protect carbide from damage. DESCRIPTION

These small (25 mm x 25 mm x 0.65 mm) cutting stones are used to make clean cuts of glass and quartz capillaries. Use the edge of the stone to etch the capillary then gently snap the capillary in two. This is useful for cutting the tips off closed capillaries used for mounting single crystals for x-ray diffraction analysis or for cutting capillaries to the desired length.

Capillary Cutting Procedure

1. Gently place the capillary on a clean, flat surface.
2. Gently holding the stone at approximately 30° angle to the capillary tube, starting near one edge of the stone, proceeding in a single, smooth motion, draw the length of the non-serrated edge of the stone across the capillary one time . Apply just enough pressure to score the capillary, do not attempt to cut through the capillary.
3. Pull the capillary axially until it breaks. If it won’t break, the score was not deep enough. Repeat the above steps, pressing down with slightly more force while drawing the cleaving stone the capillary.
4. Once cut, inspect the end finish to ensure the cut quality meets the application requirements.

DESCRIPTION

The LCP Sandwich Set consists of a base glass slide and an optimized cover slip. LCP Sandwich Set developed jointly with the renowned Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, USA and is manufactured by Paul Marienfeld (0890003).

The LCP Glass Sandwich Set is a specially designed plate for either automated or manual setting of 96 Lipidic Cubic Phase matrix screening experiments. The plate can also be used for the bicelle method and batch method. The thin (< 2 mm high) plates have exquisite optical properties and are well suited for the detection of microcrystals and for birefringence-free imaging between crossed polarizers. The plates allow for in meso crystallization trials with 50 nanoliters protein/lipid mesophase and 1 microliter precipitant solution per trial.

The 96 well LCP Glass Sandwich Plate consists of a) 127.8 x 85.5 x 1 mm glass base plate with the footprint of an SBS-compliant plate, a 140 µm thick double sticky spacer with 96 punched out holes and b) a 0.2 mm thick glass coverslip. The double sticky spacer is already adhered to the base plate. A brown paper liner covers and protects the top of the double sticky spacer and base plate. The 0.2 mm thick glass coverslip fits over and seals the entire 96 well lower plate. Alternatively a series of twenty-four siliconized 18 x 18 mm No. 1 square cover slides (HR3-152) can be used to seal the entire 96 well lower plate. Each 18 x 18 mm No. 1 cover slide seals 4 wells. Space for a bar code is available at the left end of the plate. Each well can contain 50 nanoliters of cubic phase and 1 microliter of crystallization reagent.

18 x 18 mm No. 1 Siliconized Cover Slides are made from chemically resistant borosilicate glass D 263 M of the first hydrolytic class. The slides are colorless, clear, and suitable for fluorescence microscopy. The slides feature a super hydrophobic surface on both sides. The slides are No. thickness (0.13 ro 0.16 mm). The slides are supplied in a two compartment plastic box, 100 slides per box, 10 boxes per case, 1,000 slides total for HR3-152.

The Tungsten-carbide glass cutter can be used for cutting and removal of the upper coverglass that seals the LCP Sandwich Set. Sold separately.
